Sonshine Moorer, with a remarkable 38-year career in the radio entertainment industry, she is celebrated as “The hardest working woman in show business.” Her work as a writer and author, along with hosting the highly regarded TV talk show BLAB TV on the Gulf Coast, reflects the dedication to making a meaningful impact in the community.
Her passion for health related issues in education drives her active involvement in various community programs. She is a committed member of the board of several nonprofit organizations, finding fulfillment and giving back and working towards a brighter future. Being recognized and honored by the Northwest Florida community has been both humbling and motivating, fueling her ongoing efforts to create positive change.
She holds a bachelor of arts in office computer programming from Southern State University and an associates degree in business administration from Alabama state. These academic achievements, combined with extensive real-world experience, has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges our community faces.
Central to her community involvement is the Teen Advocacy Program, which she founded to instill educational values and teenagers and guide them towards a successful future. TAP has strengthened her community ties and allowed her to address social issues, promote education, and encourage health and wellness.
Her commitment extends beyond discussion; she actively engages in creating tangible change. Her hands on approach and ability to connect with people, marked by sincerity and passion, enable her to bring diverse voices together for impactful dialogue and action. She has had the privilege of hosting esteemed guests, like Dr. Ian, and participating in numerous community events to educate and inspire. Her multifaceted engagement has cemented her reputation as a fair, positive, and dedicated advocate for her community.
