It&#8217;s about race. </p><p>It is about the belief that political credibility must be accompanied by an expensive wardrobe, polished presentation, and proximity to wealth. It is about respectability politics and the additional burden placed on Black women to prove that they belong in spaces of power.</p><p>Angie Nixon has built her political career alongside working families, organizers, and communities that are routinely overlooked by Florida&#8217;s political establishment. Her value as a candidate should not be measured by the price of her shoes. It should be measured by her record, her ideas, and her commitment to the people she is asking to represent.</p><p>The controversy also raises an important question for Alexander Vindman.
